H4D Type The following provides an explanation of the procedure for connecting and disconnecting the H4D type installed on products manufactured by the OKUMA Corporation and so forth. |

[Disconnection] (1) First, find the sensor relay connector. It is located inside the arm or just behind the arm joint. |

(2) Turn the fastening ring (  ) on the machine side counter-clockwise to remove it.Connection can be made if a fastening ring is not attached to the relay connector of the machine you are using. |

(3) After removing the fastening ring, slowly pull the connectors straight apart while holding onto the rough surface portions of the connectors. |

[Connection](4) Compare the connector of the new sensor and the connector on the machine side and check that the pins and holes match. Contact us immediately if they do not match. Although the type shown here is of the 4-pin type, 2-pin and 5-pin types are also available. |

(5) Align the connectors so that the small holes serving as alignment references lie in the same plane, and then push the connectors straight together. Since the small holes are not precisely aligned along the same line, they should only be used as a reference for aligning the pins and holes. |

(6) The connection procedure is completed with the above step if there is no fastening ring attached to the connector. If there is a fastening ring, securely turn the fastening ring and tighten in position. Failure to make a reliable connection can cause defective insulation between the cores, reduced accuracy due to shorting or defective signals. |
